Liquor Stores Busy On Final Day of 2017Posted: Updated:
On one of the most popular drinking holidays of the year, local wine and spirit shoppes are seeing a steady stream of business.
Southbridge Wine and Spirits on Vestal Avenue in Binghamton says traditional standbys have been a popular seller on New Year's Eve.
According to owner, Barry Manville, people are turning to dry wines and champagne for their celebrations and says that dry wines have been popular throughout this holiday season.
"Our big sellers this year again, Persecco is leading the way. People are turning to Persecco for everyday enjoyment as well as celebrations like for New Years Eve this evening. We also have a wine from Spain, a dry sparkling wine, as well as champagnes for Champagne, France and other sparkling wines from around the world. So tonight, the bubbles are leading the way."
Manville says business has been great for his store in 2017.
