Cortland Man Charged In Bank RobberyPosted: Updated:
The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search warrant at a residence on Elm Street in the City of Cortland as a result of the investigation into the bank robbery this past Saturday which occurred at the First National Bank of Dryden on Route 13 in the Town of Cortlandville.
As a result of the search proceeds from the robbery were recovered (the amount of money recovered will not be disclosed at this time).
Taken into custody at the residence on Elm Street was Zacharie T. Boutoille.
Boutoille was taken into custody without incident and taken to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office where he was arrested and charged with Robbery in the 2nd degree a Class C felony, Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree a Class D felony and Criminal Use of a Firearm in the 2nd degree a Class C felony.
The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office was assisted the day of the robbery by the New York State Police and the Cortland City Police Department. Anyone who may have information regarding this investigation is encouraged to contact the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division at 607-758-6151. The investigation is continuing and additional charges are possible.
At the time of this release the defendant was awaiting arraignment and will be arraigned Friday morning.
