Restaurant Week Returns to Binghamton

Posted: Updated:
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -

Binghamton can still boast one of the largest restaurant week in Upstate New York, as 30 different eateries prepare for the event. On Monday, Mayor Rich David and members of EatBing highlighted the restaurants participating in this year's event.

"People in Binghamton want businesses to succeed," says Restaurant Week co-organizer Joshua Bernard, "They really come out to support, they put their money where their mouth is. That means so much that so many people come out and spend their hard earned cash supporting a local economy."

Attendees of Binghamton Restaurant Week aren't just supporting the local economy, they are also contributing to local charity organizations. Over the years, Binghamton Restaurant Week has raised over $90,000 for charity. This year's recipients are CHOW and Truth Pharm.

Daniel Sharp, owner of Garage Taco Bar, a new addition to both Downtown Binghamton and Restaurant Week, says he is looking forward to paying it forward to this year's charities.

"We're really excited to join the restaurant community downtown, and give back to our community, as this has always been my home," says Sharp.
