Julio C. Belcher-Cumba was sentenced Friday in Broome County Court to nine years in State Prison, with five years’ post-release supervision.
Belcher-Cumba was arrested in November 2015 for an incident where he stole cash and property near Main and Chapin streets in Binghamton, and discharged at least one round from a loaded firearm. Belcher-Cumba was originally charged with attempted robbery, in the first degree, a Class C Violent Felony.
“Those who spread violence on our streets will be arrested, aggressively prosecuted and sent to prison,” said District Attorney Steve Cornwell. “Broome County is no longer the place to commit violent crimes.”
