Cal Harris has been found not guilty of second degree murder in the death of his wife Michele by Schoharie County Court Judge Richard Mott.
This decision comes after 3 days and roughly 12 hours of deliberation.
Harris is the Spencer man charged with the death of his wife Michele in September of 2001. Neither a body nor a murder weapon has ever been found. Harris waived his right to a jury trial. Harris was twice convicted of his wife's death, but both convictions were overturned on appeal.
A third trial last year ended in a hung jury.
Harris' third trial ended in deadlock after over three months of testimony.
Tuesday's deliberations began at 12:45 p.m. at Schoharie County Court House.
