BU's Harbaugh named AEast Player of the Week

VESTAL, N,Y. -- Senior outfielder Sydney Harbaugh has been named the America East Player of the Week. It marks the third time in her career that she has earned the conference's weekly accolade.

Harbaugh hit a team-best .515 (8-for-13) in Binghamton's three-game sweep at UMass Lowell this past weekend. She collected at least two hits in each game, including a career-high four hits in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader. Four of Harbaugh's hits were for extra bases (three doubles and a triple) and she tied for the team lead with four RBI during the series against the River Hawks. She also led the Bearcats with a .615 on-base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage. Harbaugh also scored a team-best five runs.

Following Binghamton's doubleheader sweep at Central Connecticut on Tuesday, Harbaugh is hitting .368 for the season with two home runs and 18 RBI. Her on-base percentage is currently .444.

The other two times Harbaugh was named the America East Player of the Week came on April 20, 2014 and March 9, 2015.

Binghamton hosts Niagara on Thursday at 3 p.m. in its home-opening doubleheader.
