Salamida Co. Cited by OSHA

By Jason Weinstein.
A Johnson City company is facing fines of almost $80,000 after being cited for 25 items by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

The Rob Salamida Company is facing the penalties after a September report of a worker who lost consciousness from inhaling too many fumes while cleaning a vinegar holding container.

Owner Rob Salamida says he is just seeing OSHA's report. But he says the company has already complied with 75 percent of what OSHA has asked for. And it has fixed the issues the OSHA inspector has asked it to repair.

Salamida also clarified that the employee was wearing a respirator when he entered an empty vat that had about 3 inches of sediment.
