Failing to Stop Ends in Drug Arrest for Two with Outstanding Warrants

Two Sidney residents with outstanding warrants have been arrested for drug possession after failing to stop at a stop sign.

On Monday at about 6 p.m., New York State Police arrested Cristal. L. Cartelli, 36, and Curtis J. Webb, 38, for various charges including drug possession. These arrests occurred after Cartelli was observed not stopping at a stop sign as she was driving on State Route 206 in the Town of Bainbridge.

An investigation determined that she was wanted on a warrant in the Town of Vestal. Also, her passenger Webb was wanted on a warrant in the Town of Sidney. A search of the vehicle found that they unlawfully possessed a small amount of heroin. Also, Webb unlawfully possessed a small amount of marijuana.

Cartelli is charged with misdemeanor of criminal possession of a controlled substance and traffic violations and Webb is charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance and the violation of unlawful possession of marijuana.

Cartelli was arraigned in the Town of Bainbridge court and was remanded to the Chenango County jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 property bond. Webb was also arraigned in the Town of Bainbridge court and remanded to the Chenango County jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 property bond.

Their next court date in the Town of Bainbridge is on April 26, 2016.
