Easter Buffet Helps Students Pay For College

By Brianna Case.
Some families jump started their Easter Sunday with an buffet breakfast that's helping students pay for college.

The Vestal Elks hosted an Easter breakfast at their lodge in efforts to raise money for the Elks National Foundation.

Community members came out to not only indulge in a spread blueberry pancakes, bacon, eggs and home fries, but to also support the organization that has contributed over $429 million dollars to charitable projects nation wide.

"Elks are the second in the United States at giving out scholarships, the first being the United States government. So, a lot of the scholarships come out of that fund ," said Cindy Woodruff, Loyal Knight at the Elks Club.

All proceeds from the breakfast will benefit the Elks National Foundation that provides $3.74 million in college scholarships each year through its scholarship programs.
