Nearly 15 Acres Engulfed In Windsor Brush Fire

By Faith Jessie.
Reports of a large brush fire near the state line in Windsor came in around 5:00pm Saturday.

According to West Windsor Fire Chief Jerry Launt, the flames engulfed nearly 15 acres on top of a mountain.

Launt says smoke was visible upon arrival to the scene but crews had to go off road and hike up the mountain in order to reach the flames.

About 80 firefighters from 12 departments and a forest ranger responded to the scene.

In addition to water, firefighters used Class A foam to absorb into the dry grass and wood in efforts to reduce the spread of the fire.

Launt said no residences were in the fire's path and that the flames are under control.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation and no injuries have been reported.
