Update: Suspects Charged in JC Shooting

Two men have been arrested in connected with Thursday’s shots fired incident in Johnson City. On Thursday, a report of shots fired in the vicinity of 216 Corliss Ave was reported to the Johnson City Police Department.

According to police, one male victim was located suffering from a single gunshot wound. Initial reports and witnesses reported three suspects that fled the scene in a vehicle. Johnson City Police Detectives were able to obtain a plate number of the suspect vehicle which was registered to an address in Binghamton, NY. A short time later, the Binghamton Police Department located the suspect vehicle in the City of Binghamton.

The three occupants of the vehicle were positively identified as the suspects from the shooting and were taken into custody. Upon further investigation by Johnson City Police Detectives, the gun used in the shooting was recovered and the following subjects have been charged in connection with the shooting.

Larry Patterson, 27, of Greenwood, SC was charged with Felony Attempted Murder and Felony Criminal use of a Fire Arm.

Norma J. Hayes, 18, of Johnson City, NY was charged with Felony Attempted Murder.

The victim was treated at Wilson Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries and was later released.

Hayes and Patterson were arraigned in Johnson City Court and were remanded to the Broome County Jail without bail.

No photos of the defendant are being released at this time due to identification procedures.
