A Binghamton man has been arrested for several felonies including possessing crack.

Alvin A Young, 36, was arrested Wednesday evening after the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force, the Johnson City Police patrol division and the Binghamton Police Community Response Team executed a search warrant at a hotel in Johnson City.

According to police, Task Force Investigators made entry into the hotel room after attempts to “call out” the occupants were met with no result. Once inside, investigators encountered the subject of the search warrant, Alvin A Young who submitted to arrest without incident.

Investigators say they saw that Young had flushed crack cocaine down the toilet.

Investigators were able to recover approximately 51 grams of crack cocaine from within the toilet. Investigators also located packaging material, a digital scale, and $13,905 in cash, which is suspected drug proceeds.

Young had previously fled from investigators and was also being sought for two drug sale charges and an active New York State Parole Warrant. Young is currently being held at the Johnson City Police Department awaiting his arraignment in Village Court.

Young is facing several charges including: Felony Criminal sale of a controlled substance, two counts of Felony Criminal possession of a controlled substance, Felony Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Misdemeanor Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia.
