Jones settles traffic case

Endicott native Jon "Bones" Jones settled his traffic case in Albuquerque, NM on Wednesday. Back on January 31st Jones was pulled over for driving 75 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone. He was cited for driving without a license, registration, or proof of insurance.

In court Wednesday, Jones presented all three documents and made a $100 donation to the New Mexico Animal Humane Society as a gesture of good will. No further penalty will be assessed as long as he stays out of trouble for 90 days.

It was initially thought that the traffic incident could be a violation of his probation stemming from an April 2015 hit-and-run accident, but after the settlement that is not the case.

Jones is still set to make his UFC return on April 23rd in Las Vegas against Daniel Cormier to try and reclaim the Light Heavyweight Belt he was stripped of following the hit-and-run incident. That fight is part of UFC 197.
