Caring for Loved Ones with Alzheimer's

Caring for a loved one who suffers from Alzheimer's disease can be challenging. Local officials want caregivers to know there are services to help them face these challenges.

The Alzheimer's Association presented, "Managing the Behaviors of Loved Ones with Alzheimer's" at the Broome County Library on Wednesday. It provided tips on decoding behavioral messages, identifying common triggers, and strategies to deal with the disease.

"It's just really important to be informed, so that you know what you're facing," said Judy Bobinski, Case Manager of Caregiver Services for the Broome County Office of Aging. "To be able to know that there are others out there similar to you, who can help you out in your journey as a caregiver."
