Area Man Hit With Gun Charges After Johnson City Traffic Stop; Another Arrested
On Monday, officers in Johnson City report that they stopped a vehicle on St. Charles Street in the village for a traffic infraction. Police say they found that the driver was driving without a license and had multiple suspensions for failing to answer summonses.
Then police say the driver was found to be in possession of a .22 caliber revolver. Add to that, the passenger was said to be a fugitive from justice out of Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania with an active warrant for narcotic related charges.
As a result, 18-year-old Stanley S. Conklin of Johnson City was hit with criminal weapons charges and charges related to driving without a license. 28-year-old Lawrence McGuire, of Hallstead, PA was arrested on Fugitive from Justice warrant. Both subjects were sent to the Broome County Jail.
