Cooperstown School Superintendent Dies in ATV Accident

By Jason Weinstein.
The Superintendent of Cooperstown Schools has died. New York State Police say 51-year-old C.J. Hebert was found about 3 O'clock Monday morning in a heavily wooded area in Schoharie County in an apparent ATV accident.

Hebert has served as Superintendent since 2010. Classes were cancelled Monday. They will resume Tuesday and counseling will be available for students during the day.

The Cooperstown Board of Education will meet to develop a short-term plan for district supervision. The Board President called Hebert a strong leader and good friend.
