Suspect in Oasis Bar Shooting Rejects Plea Deal

By Fox 40 Staff.
A man accused in a January shooting in Johnson City rejected a plea deal today in Broome County court.

Prosecutors offered Francisco Maysonet 15 years behind bars in exchange for a guilty plea to second degree attempted murder.

On February 10, the 30-year-old Massachusetts resident was indicted by a Broome County grand jury on six felony counts, including attempted murder in the second degree, a class B felony.

Maysonet was also charged with assault in the first degree, criminal use of a firearm in the first degree and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

Johnson City police said Maysonet shot another man outside the Oasis Restaurant and Bar on Harry L. Drive then fled the scene.

The 30-year-old is in Broome County jail without bail.
