Police: Binghamton Woman Bought Over $1000 with Stolen Credit Card
By FOX 40 Staff. A Binghamton woman has been arrested for Grand Larceny after police say she used a stolen credit card to buy over a $1000 worth of merchandise.
New York State Police arrested Emily J. Ashman, 25, for the felony of grand larceny. This arrest occurred after troopers were advised of a theft of credit card from a home in Oxford in February 2015. Police say that Ashman had stolen the credit card, without being noticed by the owner, after she had been allowed to stay over a few days.
Authorities say she then used the stolen credit card to buy over $1000 worth of merchandise from several different stores.
Ashman was arraigned in the Town of Oxford court and was remanded to the Chenango County jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 property bond. Her next court date is pending.
