A "False Personation" Arrest to Report Locally

The Broome County Sheriff’s Office tells Fox 40 that it has arrested a man named Henry L. Church Tuesday evening. This occurred following a residential alarm activation on Newell Road in the Town of Union.

A deputy responded to the alarm activation and reportedly located Church exiting the residence with two dogs.

Church was said to have been questioned and asked to identify himself. Church reportedly provided a name and date of birth to the officer.

Church was allegedly displaying behavior that led the officer to suspect he was lying about his true identity.

After further investigation authorities says they learned that Church was attempting to conceal the fact that he had a Parole Warrant issued for his arrest from New York City.

Church was at the residence to walk the dogs and accidentally set off the alarm. He was taken into custody.
