St. Patty's Parades Continue

By Faith Jessie.
The 5th Annual Hillcrest St. Patty's Day parade took place on Saturday. Hundreds of community members lined Chenango St. eager to see floats and catch some treats.

During the parade representatives from My Uncle's Place collected socks, underwear and other items for "US For Kids".

The organization is an outreach program that believes all kids deserve to start every day with a strong foundation.

"People donate money, clothes, we have a truck in the back and we do all the donations. They bring socks, underwear," said Linda Trusky, Owner of My Uncle's Place.

The group also held a 50/50 raffle to benefit the Hillcrest Civic Association. My Uncle's Place opened it's doors to the community for a get together following the parade.
