Fire on Vacant Home in Munsell Street is Quickly Put Out

By Fox 40 Staff.
At around 7:10 Monday evening, Fox 40 received scanner reports of a "fully involved structure fire" on 15 Munsell Street in the City of Binghamton.

Fox 40 arrived on the scene just after 7:30 and the fire was already put out.

The house was vacant and there were no injuries.

Police did not offer a comment on its cause, but one witness describes what he saw tonight.

"All of a sudden there was a bunch of orange out back so we walked out and looked and I said, 'This place is burning,' said Jerry Minoia, who was visiting neighbors across the street.

Minoia called 9-1-1 and told them the house was on fire.

Several emergency vehicles arrived.

The blighted house was abandoned. It was investigated for the rest of the evening.

Some question whether it was started intentionally but Fox 40 can't confirm with authorities what caused the blaze at this time.
