Veteran Bearcats helping freshmen deal with postseason pressure

Coming from high school to Division I basketball is daunting enough, but then to have to deal with March Madness, even so far as the America East Tournament, is a different task entirely. As the Bearcats prepare to take on New Hampshire Wednesday night, Tommy Dempsey is relying on his returning veterans to help the younger players adapt to the pressure and the atmosphere of the postseason.

"Some of the guys that have can hopefully do a good job of talking to the other guys, getting them ready over the next couple days of practice for what's ahead," Dempsey said. "It'll be a great environment, you're in a one and done. It's their first time through that in college. All of these guys have been on really successful high school teams that have played in their state tournaments or whatever it may have been. So, it's not unfamiliar territory for them overall, but at this level the stakes are a little higher."

Bearcats and Wildcats tip off in Durham, NH at 7:30.
