JC Students Compete in Annual Science Fair

Have you ever wondered how different drinks affect a dog's teeth? Well, this and other concepts were explored locally.

Sixty fourth grade students at the Johnson City Intermediate School studied volcano explosions, what happens when you put Mentos in a bottle of Coke, and the solar system.

All together there were ten different categories of science experiments. Some students say they were most excited about trying something new at this year's fair.

"The best part about a science fair is you get to do stuff that you've never done before in your life. Like if you wanted to do a volcano, your parents probably won't let you because it's too messy but at least you can get to do it here because you'd get to show people how it works," said fourth grader, Noah Ross.

One winner will be selected for each of the categories. They will be announced on Thursday.
