Wildcats rally with the long ball to claim Section Title

Despite a ten point first half deficit the Johnson City Wildcats rallied to beat two-time defending Section IV Class A Champion Union-Endicott 75-67 to win the Section Title.

That ten point deficit came on a Wyatt VanVestrout lay-in with three minutes left in the first and by halftime, the Wildcats had cut the deficit to just one. The Tigers score 16 points in the second quarter eight of which came from the foul line. That trend continued in the third with a large percentage of U-E's points coming from the charity stripe and JC took full advantage letting it rain from beyond the arc.

Ken Johns finished with 26, Pat Garey with 19 for JC. VanVestrout tallied 15 for U-E.

JC will next play the winner of the play-in game between the Section I and Section IX Champs. That game will be at SUNY Cortland. Date and time yet to be determined.
