Tompkins County Man Facing Heroin Sales Charges

A Tompkins County man has been arrested for multiple drug felonies including the selling of heroin.

On Wednesday, Devon C. Miller, age 33, was placed under arrest after two search warrants were executed by the New York State Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, (CNET), with assistance from the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Department, Ithaca Police Department and Trumansburg Village Police Department.

The warrants were executed following a two month investigation into heroin sales in Tompkins County.

Two search warrants were executed on a 2002 BMW and his residence located at 68 Hector Street in the Village of Trumansburg, Tompkins County.

As a result of the search warrants the following items were seized:

Approximately 2.6 ounces of heroin, approximately ½ ounce of crack cocaine, approximately 2 ounces of cocaine, a small amount of marijuana, drug scale, packaging material, a bullet proof vest (body armor), over $8500 in cash, a 2002 BMW SUV, and 3 loaded handguns.

According to police, the handgun was defaced and an investigation has determined two of the weapons were stolen firearms from the Tompkins County area.

Miller is facing the following charges:

• 2 counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance (heroin) in the Third Degree a Class B Felony.
• 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree a Class B Felony for possession of heroin and cocaine with intent to sell.
• 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree a Class B Felony for possession of heroin and Cocaine.
• 3 counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree a D Felony.
• 1 count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree for possession of more than 3 firearms a Class D Felony.
• Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree a Class E Felony for possession of stolen firearms.
• Criminal Impersonation in the Second Degree a Class A Misdemeanor.
• Criminal Nuisance in the Second Degree a Class a Class B Misdemeanor.
• Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree a Class A Misdemeanor.
• Unlawful Possession of Marihuana.


Miller was arraigned in Town of Ulysses Court and has been remanded to Tompkins County Jail without bail.
