State Survey: 71 Percent Support Common Core Standards

By Jason Weinstein.
71 percent of people who responded to a state survey were supportive of Common Core standards.

The state Department of Education says more than 10,000 people responded to the survey. 29 percent of those people opposed the standards. Of those who responded 49 percent were teachers and 33 percent were parents. The Department plans to develop new draft standards for Common Core by November.
