Oxford PD to Begin Program to Help Addicts

By Jason Weinstein.
The Oxford Police Department is becoming the latest law enforcement agency to open it's doors to addicts looking for help.

The program will be called Road to Recovery and should be running by mid-March. Once the program begins residents can go to the station to seek treatment for their addiction without fear of arrest. Those addicts will be paired with volunteers called angels to help them while treatment is found.

This Saturday February 27tth at Oxford High School there will be a training session for volunteers who would like to be angels. Those volunteers are crucial for the program to succeed.
