BU gains momentum with Saturay's win

Five players scored in double digits for the BU Bearcats in an 81-77 win over UMass Lowell on Saturday. While it may be a little too late for BU to make a big push in the standings, a strong finish in the final two games can help them climb a spot or two. After holding off a late comeback attempt from the River Hawks, the Bearcats are confident and have some momentum heading into UMBC.

"It gave us a lot of momentum," said Timmy Rose, freshman point guard. "Going into the locker room we were all fired up. We just have to close out the next couple games and get a great seed."

"Every win puts a little wind in your sails," said Head Coach Tommy Dempsey. "It's hard coming back after a loss. The guys have been awesome all year just from a stand point of win or lose they come back and they go to work and they stay positive and believe in each other. But it's definitely a different feeling when you get back to practice and get back to prep for the next game when you're coming off a win. I think it's different for the coaches, for the players. You have to validate your improvement as a program and as a team with wins and I we were able to do that [Saturday]."

BU travels to UMBC on Wednesday.
