Three Arrested for Stealing Car Parts in Afton

Three area men have been arrested for auto stripping after police received reports of stolen car parts in Afton.

On Monday, New York State Police at Sidney arrested James N. Sayman Jr., 25, of Harpursville, Ian P. Albrechta, 20, of Port Crane, and Jordan J. Ryder, 24, of Afton for the misdemeanor of auto stripping.

This arrest occurred after troopers responded to a report of a car parts being stolen from a parked Lincoln sedan from a residential driveway on Oak Hill Rd. in the town of Afton.

Police say Sayman, Albrechta and Ryder had pulled up to the Lincoln and, after jacking the sedan off the ground, sawed off the catalytic converter and stole it for scrap.

The three men were issued tickets returnable to the Town of Afton court on February 29, 2016.
