New York Driver's Licenses Cannot be Processed Wednesday

By FOX 40 Staff.
If you plan on going to the DMV to get a new license Wednesday, you're going to need to reschedule.

Winter weather has caused some major power outages in the Albany area, which is preventing the state from processing new or renewed Driver’s and State ID’s licenses due to the camera system being down. The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles in Albany has told FOX 40 that they are working on resolving the issue.

Local DMV’s will be able to process all other requests.

Update: Late Tuesday afternoon the New York DMV announced it has largely fixed camera issues. Customers will be able to get licenses and IDs at state and county offices.
