BU's Rodgers named AEast Defensive Player of the Week

VESTAL, N.Y.—Binghamton women's lacrosse player Allie Rodgers has been selected as the America East Defensive Player of the Week for the period ending February 15. On Sunday the senior tallied four ground balls and four caused turnovers to help Binghamton hold a third-ranked Syracuse to nine goals in the Bearcats' 9-6 defeat.

After falling behind 3-0, Rodgers and her teammates banded together to play even-up (6-6) the rest of the way. The two-time captain is coming off of a junior season in which she started all 17 games, registered 33 ground balls, and set a program record with 26 caused turnovers.

Binghamton returns to action on Saturday, February 20, as they welcome Niagara to the Bearcats Sports Complex for a 2 p.m. tilt.
