Protecting Your Pets Through the Bitter Cold
Friday, February 12, 2016 8:48 PM EST
While you're keeping yourself warm during this weekend's frigid temperatures, don't forget about your pets.
Officials at the Broome County Humane Society say to bring animals indoors if possible.
If not, make sure they have plenty of food and unfrozen water in a protective shelter outdoors. Extra straw, shavings, and blankets are also a necessity.
And if you take your pet for a walk, make sure to keep it short and wipe their paws off afterwards.
