Pirohi Sale Begins at St. Michael's

By Jason Weinstein.
A Lenten tradition continues in Binghamton as St. Michael's Church on Clinton Street held it's 53rd annual pirohi sale...

The event is a major fundraiser for the church, drawing people from both inside and outside the parish. Every Friday through March 25th the church will hold perohi lunches from 11am to 1pm. You can also call the church to place your order for pick-up.

"It's become an event in Binghamton like the St. Patrick's Day Parade or Columbus Day downtown, or Spiedie Fest. People enjoy these jewels of the community, events of heritage and food and fellowship," said Father Jim Dutko, Pastor at St. Michael's

"We come every year down to St. Mike's. I'm also the Judge in the Town of Conklin and I rule that these are the best perohis in town. It really is a nice affair. It's a good fundraiser for them," said Marshall Ayers of Conklin.

To place your pirohi order you can call St. Michael's at 729-0261. Pick up times are Thursdays from 10am until 5pm. Also, on Fridays from 10am until 2pm.
