Bearcats prepared for 'huge game' against Hartford

With five regular season games remaining in the regular season and four of those at home the BU Lady Bearcats are trying to put themselves towards the top of the conference standings. Linda Cimino calls it "The Drive for Five," winning all of their final five home games. So far they've won one of those.

Thursday night is the second home game in "The Drive for Five" and comes against the Hartford Hawks. As it stands prior to tip-off, Hartford is 4th in the standings with Binghamton 5th. If the playoffs were to start right now the two would face off against each other with the Bearcats as the default road team, so Binghamton would like a win or, several, to flip flop the Hawks.

"Between Hartford and UMBC we're all backed up against each other in the standings and we need to protect our home court, Cimino said. "We've said all year we try to steal wins on the road which we did at Hartford. I'm sure they're not happy about it and they're going to try to come into our place and take the win back. But we have to protect our home court and this is a huge game. It's a very important game Thursday for playoff standings and our kids know that and they're ready."

The America East quarterfinals and semifinals will be held at the Events Center March 5-6 with the finals on the 11th at the highest remaining seed.

The Bearcats and Hawks tip-off at 7:00.
