SUNY Broome Students Take on Cold Waters for a Cause
With Thursday's bitter cold temperatures, jumping into a pool full of ice is probably the last thing on your to-do list.
However, the weather didn't stop SUNY Broome students from diving right in to the college's third annual Polar Plunge.
Plungers raised money for every minute they lasted in the freezing cold water. Event proceeds go towards the Wes Warren Memorial Scholarship. Warren was a criminal justice professor who participated in the first plunge.
The plunge looked to raise $2,000 towards the scholarship. Students said they had already raised more than $1,500 toward that goal before participants hit the water.
