PA Family Takes Legal Action Against Pipeline Project

By Kerry Longobucco.
A Pennsylvania family is taking legal action against the pipeline that could put an end to their maple syrup business.

The Constitution Pipeline would run through the New Milford property owned by the Holleran family. Construction would involve taking down their maple trees.

The Hollerans have long opposed the pipeline -- and on Friday, they issued a cease and desist letter, demanding that no construction take place until they are compensated. The Hollerans have turned down compensation packages offered to them previously.

A federal judge gave the project permission to proceed, by granting the pipeline a certificate of public convenience and necessity.
