Gibson Files Paperwork for Possible Gubernatorial Run

By Jason Weinstein.
Republican Congressman Chris Gibson announced he filed a statewide candidate committee Monday morning at the New York State Board of Elections to explore running for Governor in 2018.

Gibson, who has announced he won't run for re-election to Congress, says people are looking for a new leader in Albany. He has visited 41 of the state's 62 counties in the past year.

Gibson is a retired Army colonel whose 19th congressional district includes Delaware County. Gibson says he will make the final decision on running for Governor after his congressional term ends.
