Local Wing Slingers Prep for Super Bowl Sunday
Friday, February 5, 2016 6:45 PM EST
By Fox 40 Staff.
Nothing says 'Super Bowl' quite like chicken wings.
The National Chicken Council says Americans will eat 1.3 billion wings this weekend.
In Broome County, local restaurants are preparing for a boom in take-out business.
Owner of the Old Union Hotel says he's upping its staff, and his wing supply, to get through one of the 'hottest' days of the year.
"We're super busy with take out," said Any Kipp, owner of the Old Union Hotel
"Last year we did about 4,500 wings on Super Bowl Sunday for take out, and we're expecting to do a little more this year."
To guarantee you get your hands on some of Old Union's famous wings, Kipp recommends preordering them.
