Binghamton Human Rights Commission Protested Amendments to the Code Made by Mayor David

By Fox 40 Staff.
Community members involved in the Binghamton Human Rights Commission protested a law amending the code in front of Binghamton City Council tonight.

Binghamton Mayor Rich David has requested that the council consider the Human Rights Commission's past appointments null and void.

"To allow him to approve or disapprove the nominations obviously would compromise the integrity of the council which is to be non-partisan so that's a huge, huge problem," said community member Chelsea Cleary.

City council will continue deliberations on this issue in the coming weeks.
