JC's Korutz commits to BC

Johnson City's Adam Korutz said Wednesday's letter of intent signing was a tremendous weight lifted off his shoulders. Korutz officially committed to play football at Boston College. Korutz was named the NYSPHSAA Class A First Team All-State as a defensive lineman.

Korutz says that Boston College was the right fit for him from an academic stand point, he plans to study economics.

While Boston College was his favorite choice, he was also getting looks from other prestigious institutions like Northwester, Maryland, Syracuse, Cornell, Rutgers, Army, Yale, and Princeton among others. But in the end, it was BC that he feels gives him the best chance at fulfilling his lifelong dream.

"I've always loved the game of football ever since I was five years old. I always told myself I wanted to play football at the highest level whatever it takes so I just dedicated myself in the classroom, in the weight room, on the field during practice and obviously on the field during games. I kind of played my cards right. I made a huddle film and sent it out, the rest is history, the schools came a-calling and I decided to pick the right one for me."

Korutz will be joined by a former Maine-Endwell rival, Michael Palmer. Palmer will sign his letter of intent to play at Boston College on Tuesday.
