Port Crane Man Arrested with BAC of .24

By FOX 40 Staff.
Police have arrested a man driving three times the legal blood alcohol limit.

The Broome County Sheriff's Office arrested a Port Crane man for driving while intoxicated early Wednesday morning following a traffic stop and subsequent roadside investigation. Police saw a 2003 Jeep driving erratically and cut off another vehicle on State Route 7 in Binghamton.

Kurtis Payne, 25, was observed by police of showing indications of impairment after being pulled over. Payne was administered roadside sobriety tests and, as a result of performing poorly during the testing, was placed under arrest under the suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

Payne was administered a breath test at the Sheriff’s office and the results of the test showed his blood alcohol content to be .24%. He was released to a family member and was directed to appear in the City of Binghamton Court at a later date to answer the charges.
