Bearcats look for strong February

With the non-conference schedule and now the first turn through the America East in the books for Binghamton University, all focus turns towards Stony Brook for the second time. The Bearcats lost to the Sea Wolves at home by ten back at the start of January, but Tommy Dempsey believes this is a different BU team than it was at the start of January.

Sure the record may not reflect their recent performance, but the defense has continued to perform admirably and the offense is making strides. The Bearcats snapped a two-game win streak with a road loss in Maine over the weekend, but February is a new month and Dempsey hopes it's a good one.

"February is a big month in college basketball," Dempsey said. "Everyone's going to be jockeying for position and you want to be playing your best basketball as the season winds down. I can't say we're there yet but that's what we're trying to work towards over the next couple of weeks. Just continue to grow as a team. We're scoring a little better, our defense has been pretty consistent. So hopefully we'll have our best month of the year be the month of February."

BU travels to Stony Brook on Wednesday.
