Live Concert Kicks Off Catholic Schools Week

By Brianna Case.
The Catholic Schools of Broome County kicked off their Catholic Schools Week with a live music concert at the Oakdale Mall on Sunday.

Students from All Saints, St. John, and St. James elementary schools, as well as Seton Catholic Central performed a variety of songs for community members.

The students practiced for about 6 weeks leading up to the event.

The Catholic Schools of Broome County's president says that he was proud to see the impact of today.

"The students are excited about doing it and being here, so they look at it as more of an opportunity. And, the fact that they are out in public singing for not only their families, but the general populist, it excites them," said Rich Bucci, Catholic Schools of Broome County President.

Catholic School's Week will continue all week with events like a flag raising ceremony on Tuesday, mass on Wednesday, as well as a day of service and an art show on Thursday.
