Bowling For The Animals

By Fox 40 News Staff.
Animal lovers showed off their bowling skills Saturday for the Humane Society's Bowl-A Rama.

The bowling tournament took place Saturday at Midway Lanes in Vestal and brought out a friendly crowd who bowled to benefit the non-profit animal welfare organization.

The Humane Society doesn't get any funding from the government so they rely on events like these to keep the animal shelter running,

"We don't receive any government funding in any way shape or form so we host probably about 9 to 10 different events a year to support the animals. We have 32 teams which is really good because we did it in a short amount of time and it's always great to see all the people that are here to support us, their just amazing," says Humane Society Fundraising Coordinator Kim Broderick.

All proceeds will go towards the care for the animals at the Humane Society. They are looking to do another Bowl-O-Rama next year.
