BU Women's Basketball to Host 'Play 4 Kay' Day Saturday

Binghamton University's women's basketball team is fighting back against women's cancer with Saturday's 'Play 4 Kay' event.

Play 4 Kay is an annual effort for coaches and student athletes nationwide to raise funds for women's cancer research.

Coach Cimino will kick off the event by presenting a check for the Kay Yow cancer fund, and after the game, Cimino will invite all women over 40 to the Lourde's "Mission in Motion" RV for a screening appointment.

As part of the initiative, there will be a pink game T-shirt giveaway to fans in attendance.

Limited edition Bearcats pink jerseys will also be auctioned off during the game. All proceeds will go towards the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

The Kay Yow Cancer Fund was started in 2007. It was named after head coach at North Carolina State, who passed away in 2009 after facing her third bout with breast cancer.

The event kicks off on Saturday at 2 p.m., when the Lady Bearcats face off against Maine at B.U.
