Bainbridge Woman Arrested for Intent to Sell Heroin

Police have arrested a Bainbridge woman for heroin possession with intent to sell.

On Friday morning, Chenango County Sheriff's Office arrested Jodi E. Babcock, 34, while conducting a Drug Interdiction on State Highway 7 in Town of Bainbridge.

Various vehicle and traffic violations led to the stop which included operating a suspended vehicle, aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, and loud exhaust. During the traffic stop, police located several hypodermic needles as well as heroin. It was determined Babcock possessed the heroin with intent to sell. She also had an outstanding bench warrant issued by the City of Norwich Court.

Babcock was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, and with several vehicle and traffic violations.

She was arraigned in the Town of Bainbridge Court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $5,000 cash bail.
