Rodriguez scoring start to finish is key for BU

Thursday night the BU Bearcats lost 61-52 to Vermont and fell to 0-5 in America East play. Willie Rodriguez scored 10 points, but all of those came in the second half. That's less than ideal for your team's leading scorer averaging 14.0 points per game.

Rodriguez is a soft spoken individual with a lot of talent. In being soft spoken, he's also very laid back and often times let's the game come to him, according to Head Coach Tommy Dempsey.

"When we're struggling to score, I think he needs to recognize as our leading scorer, you gotta go. You gotta go, go make plays, force the action a little bit, try to get yourself to the foul line," Dempsey said. "I thought when he got to attack mode in the second half, I jumped on him coming in the locker room a little bit. He's so laid back, you have to get under his skin, I jumped on him a little bit and he came out and he was attacking from the start and he goes and gives you ten points in the second half and that gets us back to where we need to get to as far as putting points on the board."

BU travels to UMass Lowell on Sunday.
