A Concerned Community Speaks on Heroin in Vestal

The Heroin epidemic still haunts the Southern Tier and other parts of the nation.

Vestal Central School District and community partners hosted "Heroin and Our Community: Dinner and Dialogue" tonight. The Vestal High school cafeteria had a number of area residents who expressed interest in halting this horrific epidemic. A group of expert panelists from law enforcement to those who have suffered with this horrible addiction answered attendees' questions.

Dr. Albert Pena, Interim Principal, Vestal Highschool said, "It's something that is g our afflicting our region. It's terribly important that we start communicating this at the earliest time, earliest levels in education, so as a school were looking to sponsor this awareness tonight for our community."

Lourdes youth services, the Vestal High school PTA and other groups were sponsors of tonight's event along with local legislators.
