The Souper-Heroes Are Back

By Faith Jessie.
Batman and bisque?

That's what you'll see at this year's Clash of the Souper Heroes. SUNY Broome communications students pit local businesses against each other in this battle of the broths.

The event will benefit Mom's House, a organization that provides single parents with child care while they pursue an education.

"Many of the students in our program have benefited from the services of Mom's House, they know someone who is there, they've been there themselves," said SUNY Broome Communications Department Chair, Jason Detrani.

With the soup comes heroes.

"We're actually going to have some cameo appearances with different people coming in dressing up as Iron man and Thor," said SUNY Broome Communications Student, Noah Thayne.

But those aren't the only heroes.

"I think everybody in the community is a souper hero because they all put their two cents in... it just shows how much strength the community can have," said SUNY Broome Communications student, Sapphira Robinson.

"Soup and heroes I mean it's great right," sad Detrani.

"So come out and have a "souper" fun time," said SUNY Broome Communications Student Chris Bush.

Restaurants from all over the city will be dishing out their best soups in hopes to captivate the taste buds and win the best soup title.

The event, hosted by the SUNY Broome Public Relations Practicum class will be held at the Maine Endwell High School Cafeteria Tuesday 1/21 from 5 to 8 p.m. Admission is $7 for Adults and $5 for children under 10.

All proceeds will benefit Mom's House.
