BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – Binghamton made it five straight wins at home after they defeated the Utica Comets 6-3. Zack Stortini and Guillaume Lepine each tallied a goal and two assists while six different skaters scored for the B-Sens.

Stortini doubled Binghamton 's lead when he knocked home a rebound off a shot from Tobias Lindberg just shy of the midway point of the frame. With less than six minutes to play in the opening period, Lepine beat Richard Bachman with a sharp-angled wrist shot for his second of the year and subsequently brought Bachman's night in net for the Comets to an end. Travis Ehrhardt grabbed his fifth goal of the year with 3:32 to play in the period to cut Binghamton 's lead to 3-1. Chris Driedger stopped eight of nine shots faced in the period while Bachman allowed three goals on seven shots faced. Joe Cannata stopped the lone shot faced in 5:46 of relief goaltending.

Ryan Penny pushed home his second goal of the season 5:23 into the middle period to regain Binghamton's two-goal advantage before Kyle Flanagan knocked home another loose puck by Cannata with just over 22 seconds to play in the period to give the B-Sens the 5-2 lead heading into the final intermission break.

Binghamton added to their three-goal lead 3:44 into the final period while working the power-play when Michael Kostka sent a shot from the point that maneuvered through a maze of bodies to make it 6-2. John Kurtz scored his second goal of the year just past the midway point of the period, but that was as close as the visitors would get with the final score ending 6-3 in favor of Binghamton .

Driedger finished with 27 saves to give Binghamton their fifth straight win at home. Cannata allowed three goals on 19 shots faced in a little over 45 minutes of relief goaltending in the losing effort.
